About Us

Lisa and Michele would like to welcome you to our website, and tell you a little about ourselves and the shop.
The shop opened in 2001. Lisa needed a place to run her long arm and rented the space as a work studio. From there things just blossomed! Michele came into the shop a couple of years ago wanting to make a quilt for her sister. She started out on a simple rail fence pattern. She caught fabric fever and has been with the shop ever since. Michele has a great eye for color and design. She has advanced her technical skills to the point of designing her own patterns. Between the two of us we can help you with any of your quilting questions.
Lisa has quilted over seventeen hundred quilts in the past six and a half years. Quilting and fiber arts are her passion. Not only does the shop provide long arm quilting, we sell fabric, notions and hard to find doll supplies. We host a wealth of Fiber art consignments from local artists; including Native American baskets by Betty Manning, braided rugs, doilies, leather pillows and other leather items: Also featuring cloth dolls and cloth doll patterns by internationally known cloth doll artist Orice Klaas.
Lisa’s in Stitches has become known as the quilter’s sanctuary. With the shops large class room space, you can usually find quilters working on projects. The Sherman County Happy Quilter’s meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 1 to 4. The “Doll Hags”, doll club meets the 3rd Saturday from 10 to 4. Everyone is welcome.
We support worthwhile projects in the community, including the Sherman County Museum, and youth programs. Lisa offers a discount on quilting for raffle quilt projects.
The shop has also been a strong force behind the Sherman county quilt and doll show. Featured each year the first full weekend in July, and running for four days (Thursday through Sunday). A wearable art style show is part of the festivities. Along with vintage quilts, there is always quilt and doll challenge projects that the viewers vote on. Prizes are awarded to the winners.
Our goal is to help make your quilting and doll making experience an enjoyable one. We want to share our passion!
Happy Quilting and Doll Making!
